ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – No injuries were reported in a laundromat fire on Saturday morning.
At 11:20 a.m., Escanaba Public Safety officers were dispatched to Wash Wave Laundromat on 1st Avenue North, where smoke and flames were coming from a dryer. Upon arrival, officers saw smoke coming out of the front door of the business.
Officers entered the laundromat, quickly found the fire, and extinguished it. They then ventilated the building to remove the remaining smoke. The fire remains under investigation.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted at the scene by Escanaba City Electric, DTE, Rampart, and Delta County Central Dispatch.
