Michigan State Police are reporting they have found the body of Dale Venema, 74, on Lake Superior in Ontonagon Township.
Venema was last seen paddling on Lake Superior on July 14, 2023. Later that day, his kayak was seen overturned and the search began. His body was found on on September 22, 2024 with the Ontonagon medical examiner confirming his identity on Tuesday.
MSP wants to thank the residents and visitors of Ontonagon who provided information that helped lead to this recovery.
