FAIRBANKS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 47-year-old Garden woman was seriously injured in a crash in Fairbanks Township. According to the Michigan State Police (MSP), excessive speed appears to have been a contributing factor.
Around 8:15 a.m. on October 9, troopers from the MSP Gladstone Post responded to a single-vehicle crash on II Road. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling on II Road near II Lane when the driver lost control and crashed. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her vehicle and sustained serious injuries.
Troopers and fellow first responders provided first aid at the scene. The woman was airlifted by Guardian Flight to a hospital for treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
MSP was assisted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Tristar EMS, Guardian Flight, Nahma Township Fire/Rescue, the Garden Township Fire Department, and Delta County Central Dispatch.
