IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) —A driver was injured after attempting to flee from police, leading to a crash on W. Hughitt Street.
At approximately 1:39 PM, an Iron Mountain officer attempted to stop a vehicle after witnessing it drive off the road and hit a concrete flower pot. However, the driver continued without stopping, eventually turning onto W. Hughitt Street. The vehicle accelerated until it reached the 900 block, where it collided with a parked, unoccupied pickup truck. The crash disabled the vehicle and left the driver with injuries.
The driver was immediately transported to Marshfield Medical Center, Dickinson Hospital by Integrity Care EMS. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
Iron Mountain Police and Fire Departments were on the scene, along with assistance from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, Kingsford Public Safety, Iron Mountain Department of Public Works, and Integrity Care EMS.
