ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Thursday, the Escanaba Public Library kicked off its fourth annual summer concert series.
“Live on the Lawn at Lunch!” takes place outside the library from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. every other Thursday.
The first concert featured Kentucky-based duo Flagship Romance, who recently returned from a European tour, and food available from The Grateful Cheese. Each event includes one artist and a food truck.
In addition to good music and good food, Library Assistant Jane Lynch says the series brings new people to the library to learn about all of the resources and activities it has to offer.
“We do so much more at the library than just check out books,” Lynch said. “We are a community hub. We are a community center, and we love to have community events here. We have a great lineup this summer.”
“Live on the Lawn at Lunch!” is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket. The full list of performances and food trucks is available below and on the Escanaba Public Library website or Facebook page.
