Are you looking to put your mind, body, and love to the test? Do you love beer as much as you love your spouse? Then you are going to want to listen to this What’s UP with Megan.
The U.P. Wife Carrying Championship will take place this Saturday at The Marquette Mountain Resort. This unique event promises a blend of athleticism, teamwork, and the best reward imaginable: winning the wife’s weight in beer.
The championship, set to kick off at 1 pm, will challenge participants to navigate a grueling 278-yard obstacle course that adheres to international standards, including log hurdles, sandy traps, and a muddy water pit. There is no minimum weight requirement for the carried spouse, adding an element of unpredictability to the competition. Wife carrying, as the name suggests, revolves around husband-and-wife teams racing through the course, however, the rules allow for diverse pairings, emphasizing inclusivity and fun.
Registration for the championship is open, with a fee of $45 before May 4 and $50 thereafter. If you aren’t interested in participating, spectators can witness the action free of charge, making it a perfect outing for families and friends alike.
