SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Local shelter animals are looking for their forever home, and Springtime is a time for a new adoption. From now until May 15th, the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is having an ’empty the shelter’ event with cats, dogs, even some small critters.
Cats 1 to 6 years will be $25 and dogs 1 to 6 years will be $50, any animal that is older than 6 will have a waved adoption fee. Each adoption comes spayed or neutered and microchipped.
“Fill out the adoption interest form make an appointment we’re gonna show you the animals that you might be interested in maybe you wrote down suzzy the cat, well maybe suzzy the cat’s not quite the right fit you can look at some others don’t worry about it’s fine just make that appointment tho,” commented UPAWS Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator Ann Brownell.
