MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A long-awaited project is making steady progress in livening up downtown Marquette. Through the City of Marquette, the Community Health Foundation of Marquette County, and the Playground for All committee, the Kids Cove Project will be the second, all-inclusive playground in the State of Michigan.
Since the construction began in September of last year, the cement perimeter has been laid, the new all-inclusive bathrooms are being finished and the water lines are being dug out.
The original plan had the project completed by the 4th of July, however, due to the material delays, the timeline has moved to September.
“We also want to make sure that it’s safe and meets all the minimum requirements in terms of a new build of a playground there has been a slight delay in terms of the timeline of the project, it’s shared on the website and we’re looking at completion in early fall,” commented CEO of Community Health Foundation of Marquette County Zosia Eppensteiner.
