IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Tuesday night, a devastating fire engulfed an Iron Mountain residence, resulting in the complete loss of the home. The Iron Mountain Fire Department reported that the incident unfolded on the 1500 block of Oslo Avenue, occurring just before 7:30 PM.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames after nearly four hours, and the scene was declared clear shortly before 11 PM. Fortunately, the homeowners were absent when the fire erupted, and commendably, none of the responding firefighters sustained injuries.
As a precautionary measure due to the intensity of the fire and smoke, a neighboring house was evacuated. The aftermath of the incident remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine the cause.
