ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Tuesday afternoon, Rare Earth Goods and Cafe held its ribbon-cutting ceremony, re-opening the art co-op store and cafe store. The store has been offering local artists a space to sell their products in exchange for a 4-hour shift every month and the new owner aims to continue the unique service.
Customers can find a lot of different items like handmade soaps, jewelry, and even a unique wine collection. The new owner doesn’t want to change much, but instead, grow the artist community that already exists within the store. “My goal is to create a more community care-based store here so people can come here for zero waste products and they can come here for sustainable living products which that’s my goal,” commented Rare Earth Goods Owner Esther Ruggles.
