Pine Mountain Ski Resort is gearing up for a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration. 15-20 local ski patrol volunteers and ski school instructors, wielding torches, will gracefully descend the hillside, captivating a large crowd in an annual tradition that has become a cornerstone of the community’s ski culture.
Jan Bruder, the Group Sales Manager at Pine Mountain Ski Resort, shares the details: “The torchlight parade is followed by a performance from the Bad Mother Truckers, and as soon as the parade concludes, we’ll ignite a dazzling fireworks display. Our bars and restaurants will stay open, and Chef Judy has crafted a wonderful dinner for the occasion.”
Bruder encourages the public to arrive by 7 PM to witness the skiers illuminating the night.
Local music artists are setting the stage, and citizens can look forward to performances in the area by Govern, Blake Basic, and appearances by members of Midwest Crew.
As the clock ticks toward midnight, the city’s nightlife is set to come to life.
The Maxx Entertainment Center is poised to host a thrilling New Year’s Eve experience.
Dave Fraser, owner of The Maxx, outlines the plans: “We’ll kick off the night with snacks and a party, and from 7 to 10 PM, catch the Packers game on our enormous 14-foot inflatable big screen. After the game, Govern will take the stage, rocking us into the New Year. We’ll cap it off with an outdoor fireworks display at midnight.”
With a newly acquired liquor license, The Maxx is ready to serve champagne to ring in the New Year.
Simultaneously, a local hotspot, Round 2 (formerly known as ‘The Blind Pig’), is poised to shine with a performance by prominent local hip-hop acts Midwest Crew, Qube, Big Rob, SUPAFLY and Midwest playaz featuring Blake Basic, Yamakazi, Scarri, & Nali.
Johnson expresses his excitement, as this is a first live performance for the new venue: “It’ll be our first time performing here. Joining me are Yamakazi, Scarri, and Nali. We focus on rap/hip-hop, and this show at Round 2 follows our successful performances, including one with Afroman back in July at The Maxx.”
Live performances at the newly revamped Round 2 Bar will start at 9 p.m. CST.
Round 2 promises a diverse experience for gaming enthusiasts, a full bar, and mocktail options for the sober drivers, all without a cover charge.
Looking ahead to 2024, The Maxx anticipates big performances, including an upcoming show by award-winning artist, who landed herself as the 2023 Josie Music Awards “Female rising star of the year” Jenna Jane. The New Year’s Eve festivities in Dickinson County offer a variety of entertainment options, ensuring a memorable start to 2024.
