MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – This time of year, people are taking down their decorations and many may be left wondering what to do with the tree.
The Marquette Public Works Department has organized drop off zones at Lakeview Arena and Hurley Field where people can leave natural trees once the decorations have been removed.
Marquette’s Director of Public Works Scott Cambensy said dropping your trees off at the sites is a great way to recycle them.
“If you are looking to get them out of your yard, get that accumulation out of your yard, this is a good way to recycle the trees,” said Cambensy. “Put them in a composting operations and make a useable product out of them.”
The locations will be open until January 9th when the trees will be taken to be composted.
