IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – This year’s Christmas Walk in Downtown Iron Mountain unfolded with festive joy as Santa made a grand appearance at the First National Bank and Trust Plaza. Leading the countdown to illuminate the city’s holiday tree, Santa, accompanied by Mrs. Claus, embarked on a first-class ride with the city fire department. The community chorus followed suit, spreading holiday melodies through the air.
Amidst the cheerful atmosphere, Santa took a moment to greet the little ones and engage with Iron Mountain students. Notably present were Lucy Baumgartner, Georgia Mundy of YAC for the Salvation Army, and National Honor Society students representing the Caringhouse in the spirit of giving, where they collected hats, gloves, mittens and winter gear to be donated to the shelter.
Meanwhile, Bishop Baraga students stole the spotlight with a captivating live Nativity display, setting the stage for a memorable evening filled with community, charity, and the magic of the holiday season.
