IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ)  – Last night’s Ladies Night set the stage for the 12th annual raffle benefiting the city’s domestic violence shelter. Grayson & Co. Jewelers, spearheading the event, unveiled 12 prize baskets with tickets priced at just a dollar each, featuring special rates for extra tickets.

Catie Schultz, owner of Grayson & Co. Jewelers, expressed the community’s dedication, saying, “So every year, we go around to local businesses, and they contribute so much. I mean our community puts so much into this – thousands really – It’s about $7000 worth of raffle prizes this year which is insane.”

The Caringhouse fundraiser, initiated by Schultz when she bought the store 12 years ago, aims to support the shelter. Schultz shared, “We have 12 baskets, and we kick it off with girls’ night out, it goes until November 30. We have people that can’t make it tonight and want to contribute, and we figure the more we can get for the Caringhouse, the better, so every year we bring a check over there, and they’re just so grateful. Actually, a lady that works there was in tonight, and she was just telling us how much she loves it and is grateful that we do it.”

The raffle, featuring generous donations from local businesses like Liuna local Labor Union 1329, Michaud Trucking, Bacco Construction Company, Bellin Health, CJ Graphics, Advantaprint, Signature Design, will run until November 30.

Schultz added, “So the tickets are just a dollar apiece or six for $5, and 30 for $20. There are 12 baskets, and they’re all great.” Tickets are available for purchase at Grayson and Company Jewelers, open Monday through Friday from 10 to 5:30 and Saturdays from 10 to 2.
