MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Halloween came early in downtown Marquette over the weekend.
Thousands of kids lined the streets to get candy from local businesses and organizations. The event was put on by the marquette dda and the Marquette police department shut down 2 blocks of Washington Street.
According to police chief Ryan Grim, having trick or treaters in a controlled environment is a safe and fun way to enjoy the holiday.
“It [was] super buddy downtown, kids had a good time, parents had a good time, it is just a nice, safe environment to get some trick or treating done,” remarked Grim.
Trick or treating will take place in Marquette Tuesday night from 4pm until 7pm.
