* NEVER look directly into the sun – eclipse or not *
This Saturday, October 14, a blazing halo will be in the sky – the Annular “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse!
There are four different solar eclipses: total, annular, partial, and hybrid.
During an Annular Solar Eclipse, the Moon travels between the Sun and Earth – blocking sunlight, but not totally.
The 2023 path will be 100% visible in parts of Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
Here in the Upper Peninsula we’re in the 35% range, so we’ll have a Partial Solar Eclipse.
The U.P.’s Partial Solar Eclipse lasts for 2 hours, 32 minutes, and 47 seconds.
It begins at 11:40:38 a.m. EDT, hits its max at 12:55:27 p.m. EDT, and ends around 2:13:25 p.m. EDT.
