MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new economic resource, available online, is aiming to help local businesses throughout the UP. In a webinar earlier Tuesday, held by the Baraga County Economic Development Corporation, the 2022 Data Booklet offers data on the UP’s economic landscape that entrepreneurs and local businesses can utilize to understand the market.
Tools like Lightcast, Zoom Prospector, and IMPLAN are all aimed at helping businesses find properties within their budget, population density in their market, and even talent attraction that might help their project or company. Leaders from BCEDC comment that this is an essential toolkit for business growth and it helps to have all of them in one spot.
“All the data is available in one spot they don’t have to click to a bunch of different websites to find what the demographics are what the labor force is what wages are so that’s another part of this tool that’s really great, is you can access and view all of this data for free at your own time,” commented Director of Business Development for the Baraga County Economic Development Corporation, Mary Myers.
