SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Sands Speedway in Sands Township is transforming into a car enthusiast’s paradise Saturday.
For the second year in a row the speedway, located at 675 Old Country Road 553, and the Marquette County Drivers Association are teaming up to present the Car Meet and Swap Expo. Over 80 cars of all types are expected to attend the event, coming from all over the U.P. and Northern Wisconsin.
The show is free to attend, and according to organizer Joe Boburka there is going to be a lot more than just cars to see.
“We are gonna have live music, we’re gonna have food trucks, we’re gonna have a swap meet as well, feel free to bring any old parts or things you want to haggle or barter with,” commented Boburka.
Gates at the Speedway open at 10 a.m The Car Show and Swap Meet kicks off at 12 p.m. The show runs until 3 p.m with an awards ceremony directly following.
