MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Powerball lottery has reached an estimated Jackpot of $725 million. There was no winner of the $630 million grand prize for the drawing last Saturday, making the Powerball jackpot now the ninth largest in the history of the game.
Gas station clerks around Marquette said even though the Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday evening, most people are still asking specifically for Powerball tickets.
“With recently getting access to our lottery machine back we’ve had a lot of people coming in specifically just for the Powerball knowing that it’s climbing really high,” commented BP Clerk Kathy-Jo Harry.
“Last week I noticed a lot more and then this week really I mean yesterday there were a ton of more sales,” commented Annie Freeman Krist Assistant Manager. “The more you get your numbers in there the better the chances and we don’t run out,” said Krist Clerk Elizabeth Blackson.
The next Powerball drawings will be Wednesday, July 12th, and Saturday, July 15th at 10:59 p.m.
