ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Kids in the west end of Marquette County had the chance to celebrate the start of summer today at River Rock Lanes in Ishpeming.
There were various games, inflatables, and even a dunk tank. The carnival is the GINCC’s only kid-centered event, and is made possible by the chamber’s sponsors.
This year was a record breaking one for the event, with over 400 kids in attendance.
“There’s grandparents here with their grandchildren, there’s moms and dads with their kids, there’s all age ranges, it’s really geared for the elementary, but then we have the highschoolers who are helping out so it really spans all generations,” commented Bob Hendrickson, the Executive Director of the GINCC.
The carnival was free to attend, and children were even able to join a raffle to win a new bike.
