MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Tonight was the first night of The Drag Cabaret at NMU’s Forest Roberts Theater. The show is a celebration to kick off the beginning of Pride Month.
Six drag queens from the Midwest are featured with their own performances full of humor, music, and fashion. The Cabaret is also the first show of the summer theater season at Northern.
One of the shows performers, Kayos Lynn Mirage, says it’s important to them that they get start off pride month in Marquette.
“What I absolutely love about drag is that it’s not one note.” Kayos says, “You have people who are gonna be dancing, people with extravagant costumes, live singing, the entertainment level is gonna go beyond.”
The show continues tomorrow night starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are $17 for the general public and can be purchased at the box office or online through NMU ticketing.
