MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – MycoNaut, a Marquette based business all about Fungi, held Mushrooms in The Garden, a workshop at Nagelkirk Gardens.
The workshop focused mostly on The King Stropharia mushroom or The Garden Giant and its properties. The company’s co founder, Joe Lane, says its important to include mushrooms like the garden giant when you plant this spring to bring nutrients to the soil and keep your garden balanced and healthy.
“A lot of people maybe don’t think about it this way,” Lane says, “but soil is kind of this in between life and death. Soil consists of dead things and it’s feeding the things you plant. Mushrooms in a lot of ways are kind of the arbiters of this in between.”
MycoNaut continue to host classes and workshops over the summer, every first and third Sunday MycoNaut will be hosting wild foraging classes. For more information, you can visit: https://www.myconaut.space/ or contact Myconaut.mi@gmail.com
