EWING TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post are investigating a fatal car fire that happened early Friday morning.
According to a press release, Troopers were called to the car fire around 3:20 a.m. on West Maple Ridge Road in Ewing Township. Police received a call about a car on fire in the middle of the road.
The Tri-Township Fire Department extinguished the fire before police arrived. After the fire was put out, one person was found dead inside.
Police say the identity of the victim cannot be positively identified at this point, and the incident remains under investigation.
The Michigan State Police Marquette Forensic Lab was also requested to assist with the investigation.
