A Marquette business is encouraging people to ditch the extra waste this year and switch to a refillable alternative.
Unsalted Goods is a refill shop located in downtown Marquette, its goal: reduce the plastic waste that comes from normal household items. You can bring in your own reusable containers or use the ones available in the shop. To fill up on everything from laundry detergent and dish soap to shampoo and conditioner.
The owner of unsalted goods, Aubrey Remenec, says it’s a more affordable way to reduce the excess waste many cleaning products produce. When we asked her why she wanted to open a refill shop, she said she’s always hated the amount of waste that even she had accumulated at home and that it just never sat right with her.
Unsalted Goods is open now from 10 am to 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12 pm to 4 pm on Sundays at 107 front street in Marquette.
