
Northern Michigan University has named Brock Tessman as its next president.
The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the selection during a special meeting Thursday morning.
The Plymouth, Mich., native will become the university’s 17th president of Northern Michigan University starting Feb. 1.
Tessman most recently worked as the deputy commissioner of higher education for the Montana University System since 2018. He also has experience as a faculty member and campus leader.
He will succeed Kerri Schuiling, who agreed to serve as president from October 2021 until a successor could be named.
