The Superior Beekeeping Club is a local group in the Marquette area, that focuses on education. The group meets monthly to share the information they’ve learned about beekeeping.
This month the group met to discuss the methods of mite testing. Varroa mites are one of the primary threats to bee populations, they infest hives and over the winter introduce diseases to colonies that can severely damage the bees.
The group also hosts an annual beekeeping conference, back in 2020 they had to cancel the conference due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The group had been unable to bring the conference back due to the ongoing pandemic, but they have hopes to bring the conference back in 2023.
