ESCANABA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Escanaba Township Fire Department responded to a structure fire on 21st Road Tuesday afternoon.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a significant amount of smoke in the garage and attic area. They determined the smoke originated from a wood-burning stove inside the garage.
Firefighters quickly ventilated the structure and contained the fire, then conducted a thorough inspection of the garage and attic to ensure there were no remaining hot spots or signs of fire expansion. No residents or firefighters were injured.
The Escanaba Township Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department, Gladstone Public Safety, and Delta County Central Dispatch.
