HYDE, Mich. (WZMQ) – No injuries were reported in a Delta County structure fire over the weekend, according to the Ford River Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, Ford River Township firefighters were dispatched to 14th Road in the Hyde area, where a pole barn was reportedly on fire. The department immediately requested mutual aid from the Escanaba Township Fire Department and the Bark River Township Fire Department. After arriving on scene, additional resources were requested from Escanaba Department of Public Safety, the Harris Township Fire Department, the Brampton Township Fire Department, the Cornell Township Fire Department, and the Michigan DNR Fire Division.
Crews were on the scene battling the blaze for roughly 4 1/2 hours and cleared the scene just after 11 p.m. The Ford River Fire Department was also assisted on scene by Delta County Central Dispatch, Rampart, Delta County Sheriff Department, Michigan State Police, UPPCO, and Brunette and Sons Excavating.
