ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new townhome development project has begun in Ishpeming.
The Niemi Group and members of First Bank broke ground Thursday morning on a site along Malton Road. The property will feature six luxury townhomes, adding 12 housing units in total. The project is currently in it’s foundation stage for two of the buildings, which are expected to be completed by spring of 2027.
Owner Jason Niemi says the property is also in a great location to help grow the housing availability in the area.
“We did a market study to see what the demand was, and this was a part of the demand that nobody seemed to want to touch, so we’re here trying to fill that right now,” he said.
The new units could be available as early as February, depending on any delays in construction.
