MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan State University Extention program is calling all gardeners, no matter the skill level.
On Saturday, September 12, the MSU program will hold the 2026 Smart Gardening Conference at NMU’s Northern Center ballrooms from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m.
Members from several corners of the state specializing in soils, invasives, climate change response, and more will present research and discuss how community members can get involved in their own ways.
“Smart gardening focuses on earth-friendly, more sustainable practices that will help the environment, but also save gardeners time, money and effort,” said MSU Consumer Horticulture Extension Educator, Rebecca Krans. “There’ll be a lot of great things for anybody that wants to improve or learn more about gardening.”
