ONTONAGON COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $153,000 to replace a culvert on M-28 east of South Agate Road in Ontonagon County. Work includes backfilling, slope restoration, and repaving.
The project is tentatively scheduled to start on August 10, with an estimated end date of August 21. During that time, one lane of alternating traffic will be open in the work zone using temporary traffic signals or traffic regulators.
The project will replace a culvert that has reached the end of its service life, extending the lifespan of the roadway and increasing safety for motorists. Based on economic modeling, the investment is expected to directly and indirectly support one job.
