MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Manistique Public Safety has received a donation of emergency drinking water from Anheuser-Busch to help keep its firefighters hydrated during firefighting response efforts.
Manistique Public Safety provides fire protection for the City of Manistique and Manistique Township. The department recently received more than 2,300 cans of water, delivered by Anheuser-Busch’s local wholesaler partner, Pike Distributing.
The donation, made in partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), will provide critical hydration to first responders working long hours in extreme conditions. The donation will help ensure firefighters have access to clean, safe drinking water while responding to fire and rescue emergencies.
Through Manistique Public Safety’s longstanding partnership with the six volunteer fire departments in Schoolcraft County, the emergency drinking water will be made available to fire departments throughout the county.
” Emergency responses place significant physical demands on our firefighters and rescue personnel,” said Director Tim Russell. “Access to emergency drinking water helps keep our responders healthy, hydrated, and response ready. We are grateful to Anheuser-Busch and the National Volunteer Fire Council for supporting the safety and readiness of firefighters throughout the U.S.”
Anheuser-Busch has supported disaster relief since 1906, donating more than 100 million cans of emergency drinking water since 1988. Through its partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), the company has delivered nearly 12 million cans of water to volunteer fire departments nationwide since 2019.
