DELTA COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is warning residents about a growing cyclosporiasis outbreak now affecting the U. P.
There is now one confirmed case in Delta County, and more than 26-hundred cases reported statewide. Investigators say lettuce and salad greens appear to be the most likely source, though no specific brand or grower has been identified.
Health officials recommend that when buying whole heads of lettuce, you discard the outer leaves and thoroughly wash the rest of the lettuce.
Anyone with severe, watery diarrhea should contact a health care provider and ask to be tested for Cyclospora.
