MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Over the weekend, search and rescue crews helped a lost hiker find her way back to safety.
On the evening of July 12, Marquette County Search and Rescue personnel were called to the Hogback Recreation Area for a report of a missing hiker. A 26-year-old Marquette woman had become disoriented while running and could not find her way back to the parking lot.
After many attempts due to poor cell service in the area, Search and Rescue members were able to obtain her location from 911 emergency calls. Search and Rescue members hiked to her location and guided her back to the parking lot without injury.
