BERGLAND, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $3.4 million to replace a box culvert on M-64 over Bingham Creek in Gogebic County. The project will include shoulder widening, as well as guardrail and pavement markings.
This work will replace a structure that has reached the end of its useful service life with a larger concrete culvert, extending the lifespan of the roadway and increasing safety for motorists. Based on economic modeling, the investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 29 jobs.
Beginning May 26, motorists can expect single-lane closures with temporary traffic signals. Work is projected to wrap up on October 21.
