FORD RIVER, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Ford River Lions Club is gearing up for a holiday celebration for the whole community.
The Lions will host a free Community Kids Christmas Party on Saturday, December 13, from noon to 3 p.m. Families can park at the Ford River Pub, then take a hayride to the clubhouse. There, they can enjoy hot dogs and sloppy joes, decorate cookies, and make crafts.
Santa Claus will also make an appearance to take photos and ask children what they want for Christmas. Each child will receive a goodie bag prepared by Santa and his Lions Club elves.
“This is the third year now,” Santa said. “They used to do it, I remember coming here, about 50 – 60 years ago. It’s been a long stretch now. We get to see all our neighbors, and the little kids get to meet each other. That’s what it’s all about. That’s why we do this, and that’s why we have Christmas.”
The Ford River Lions Club is located at 3764 L.15 Lane. For additional information on the Community Kids Christmas party, click here. To inquire about becoming a member of the Ford River Lions Club, call (906) 786-3213 or email fordriverlionsclub@gmail.com.
