HARVEY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Operation winter wear is back in Marquette , providing warmth to those in need this fall.
The outreach, hosted by Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift, offers free new and gently-used coats for adults and children. Distribution runs October 15th through the 17th — by appointment only on the first two days, with walk-ins welcome that Friday from noon to three. You can schedule appointments with the Silver Creek Church during business hours Monday through Thursday.
“And so what we’re looking to do through “Operation Winter Wear” is meet the needs of people that are in our neighborhood that we may not know even have a need. But by having this event, they’re able to respond and say, hey, that’s something that I can use,
That’s something that will help my family,” said lead pastor, Kevin Taylor.
“Operation Winter Wear” gave away over 700 coats and over 300 winter boots during last year’s campaign.
