GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Michigan’s annual Downtown Day is this Saturday, September 27. The City of Gladstone is hosting a community-wide event to celebrate.
Local businesses will line the downtown for a street fair from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and many will be running specials and sales. There will also be children’s activities, including face painting, DNR workshops, crafts, and live music.
Downtown Ambassador Samantha Gaudino says Downtown Day is a chance for all of Gladstone to come together.
“Our downtown is the heart of our community,” she said. “Without downtown, we don’t have that sense of community, that collective gathering place for everybody to come and celebrate and have a good day together.”
The event is set to be bigger and better than last year’s inaugural celebration, with the number of vendors jumping from 19 to 61.
“Not only are we supporting the local businesses downtown, we’re also offering that opportunity to other vendors in the area who are small business owners that maybe wouldn’t typically have a storefront,” said Gaudino. “We’re giving organizations an opportunity to really get their resources and information out. It’s just all around beneficial for all of the vendors and the community.”
Downtown Day will also coincide with a special Saturday farmers market. Attendees will be able to pick up a free 2025 Gladstone Farmers Market tote bag when they stop by.
