KINGSFORD, Mich. (WZMQ) – A man is in the hospital after his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail on Sunday.
At approximately 9:42 p.m., the Kingsford Public Safety Department received a report of a motorcycle-guardrail incident on the corner of South Westwood Avenue and West Breitung Avenue. The driver was lying in the road.
Officers found the incident to be a single-motorcycle accident where the driver crashed into the guardrail and was ejected. The driver was transported via Integrity Care Ambulance to Marshfield Dickinson Hospital, where he remains with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors to the crash. The road was closed for approximately an hour and a half while officials conducted their investigation.
The Kingsford Public Safety Department was assisted by DCSO Dispatch, Integrity Care Ambulance, Michigan State Police, and Iron Mountain Police.
