NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Great Lakes Recovery Center (GLRC) has received a $10,000 grant from the West End Health Foundation (WEHF) to boost its workforce training.
Each year, the West End Health Foundation’s Proactive Grant aims to benefit health initiatives of Marquette County’s west end. The 2025 theme for the grant specifically focused on healthcare workforce development.
With this theme, GLRC was the only applicant who directly lined up with that focus, through its Workforce Enhancement Project.
“The grant is primarily going to be applied towards our residential and outpatient services throughout the west end of Marquette County,” said Marketing Director, Nickolas Boyle. “When you’re able to train and provide opportunities for your workforce, you find that it makes them a lot happier to stay around. What we want, is to find happy employees and have them stay longer to provide better care.”
Later in the year, GLRC Staff will be able to undergo extended training provided by funds from the proactive grant.
