RAPID RIVER, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Upper Peninsula branch of a U.S. Department of Agriculture service is closed to the public until further notice.
The U.S. Forest Service has announced that visitor services at its Hiawatha National Forest Rapid River office are no longer available. In a Facebook post, the Forest Service advised the public to instead visit the Superivisor’s Office and Welcome Center in Gladstone.
Located at 820 Rains Drive, the Gladstone Supervisor’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Hiawatha National Forest also has a Ranger District Office in Munising at 400 East Munising Ave, which is open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
