POWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 14-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by a car while riding his bike in northern Marquette County on Saturday.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 2:10 p.m. at Perkins Park near County Road 550 in Powell Township. A 16-year-old boy from Gwinn was leaving the park driving west. A 14-year-old boy from Big Bay on a pedal bike entered the road in front of the driver and was hit.
The 14 year old was taken to U.P. Health System – Marquette for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Powell Township Fire/EMS and UPHS – Marquette.
