MUNISING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Upper Michigan’s Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore has implemented a fee increase. This increase is part of a 3-year plan that began in 2022.
The annual pass will now be $45, the seven-day walk pass is $15, the seven-day motorcycle pass is now $20 and the vehicle passes are now $25.
Park rangers commented that this is in response to a lot of visitation to the park and the dollars help the park maintain trails and update campsites.
“Each year we were averaging around 1 million visitors so it was an incredible increase and in response to that growing maintenance backlog we introduced an entrance fee so that we could put money towards our facilities and our trails that were needing it” commented Visual Information Specialist Hannah Bradburn.
