MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UP communities are walking, to raise awareness and make a difference in Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer Association’s Michigan Chapter will be hosting its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Marquette on Saturday, September 23rd at Mattson Lower Harbor Park.
Registration begins at 9 am and the walk will start shortly after the opening ceremony at 10 am. Organizers report that Marquette’s walk this year has already raised $21,755 as of Friday morning and it continues to be an event for those struggling to actually see the supportive community.
“It is the largest support group everyone here is fighting for a cure for you we’re looking to make a difference to change that outcome so everyone who’s here can receive a hug they can be embraced by the group if there are two hundred people were here for the same cause and we’re here for those people,” commented Walk Coordinator Kimberly LeTourneau.
