KINGSFORD, Mich. (WZMQ) – In a grand finale to the Kingsford Centennial Celebrations, the town came alive with a vibrant parade and an impressive display of classic cars on Saturday. The highlight of the car show was the announcement of the Best-of-Show trophy, which was awarded to Brett Ebertsch for his meticulously restored 1923 Ford Model-T.
Ebertsch, a retired laborer who works part-time for Interstate Power Systems, poured his heart and soul into restoring the vintage car for his daughter, Erica, who had the honor of driving it in the centennial parade. The car, a true gem, has remained in the Kingsford area for its entire lifetime, witnessing the city’s evolution over the past century.
For Ebertsch, the restoration project was not just about reviving a classic vehicle; it was a way to honor the city’s rich history. “I knew the guy, the family that this came from, he was a good friend,” Ebertsch explained proudly. “He sold it to me, provided I put it back to the way his grandma had it. So that’s what it is.”
