NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The classic winter storm for St. Patrick’s Day was reported to bring hazardous conditions and is seeing some change.
“We’ll have warmer air on the front end of the storm and probably a little bit more rain than we were anticipating earlier in the week so for most of the U.P. it’ll rain for a good part of tonight before a slow transition from west to east across the U.P. after midnight tonight to snow,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Zika.
Early in the week, officials are saying that there were signals of a storm for the entirety of the U.P, but now it’s shifted more north, in the Keweenaw area.
“Most areas will wake up from at least Marquette westward to some heavy very wet dense type of snow falling,” continued Zika.
