HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Republic man was hospitalized with minor injuries following a crash Monday morning that involved a semi cab.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at 7:54 a.m. at the US-41 and M-95 intersection in Humboldt Township.
The 29-year-old Republic man was turning his pickup truck westbound onto US-41 from M-95 when his pickup was struck on the passenger side by a semi cab with no trailer.
The pickup truck spun into the parking lot of the Corner Cafe where it eventually came to a stop.
The pickup driver was taken to U.P. Health System- Marquette for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the semi, a 41-year-old Carney man, was uninjured.
The driver of the pickup was also cited for failing to yield.
Traffic was backed up on US-41 for just over two hours while the crash site was cleared.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Humboldt Township Fire, Anttila’s Towing, and UPHS EMS.
