WZMQ 19 plans extensive election coverage

WZMQ 19 News will have comprehensive coverage of Your Choice 2024 throughout the day and night Tuesday.

Kevin Hodge and Sarah Blakely will co-anchor coverage from WZMQ’s studio from downtown Marquette. Live reports begin on 19 News at 6. Real time results will be displayed after polls close across the bottom of the screen. 19 News will provide live local news updates every half-hour throughout the evening during CBS’s coverage, which begins at 7 p.m.

Washington correspondent Rachel Knapp will be with the Trump campaign in Florida. Washington correspondent Brendan Scanland will be with the Harris campaign at Howard University.

Locally, 19 News reporters Lily Simmons, Sophia Murphy, John Truitt and Mike Ludlum will report from various campaign headquarters in the Upper Peninsula.

One of the key races to watch includes incumbent State Rep. Jenn Hill against Republican challenger Karl Bohnak in the race for House District 109.

WZMQ will provide results of Michigan’s U.S. Senate race featuring Republican Mike Rogers opposed by Democrat Elissa Slotkin.

The station will provide perspective and analysis from Amy Clickner, former CEO of Lake Superior Community Partnership.

In addition to broadcast coverage, WZMQ 19’s Samuel McKnight will be updating results from the digital desk to WZMQ19.com and WZMQ’s news app.

CBS coverage will be anchored by Norah O’Donnell, who will be front and center when America Decides: Election ’24 kicks off on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. on WZMQ CBS. She will be joined by Margaret Brennan, John Dickerson, Gayle King, Cecilia Vega, Robert Costa, and Ed O’Keefe. Additionally, Scott McFarlane will be in-studio to focus on Congressional races while Maurice DuBois keeps track of each candidate’s path to 270 Electoral College votes.

The owners of Iron Mountain's Trump Tower, hosted a fireworks display this evening at the site. This evenings fireworks were in honor of Veterans Day, but had to be postponed until tonight due to high winds yesterday. The fireworks were provided by pyrotechnics professionals Spread Eagle Fireworks. The show was made possible after the Iron Mountain City Council approved a fireworks permit at a special meeting held yesterday. The tower's owner Dan Rittenhouse was proud to honor our veterans.
