NMU hosts new LSSU Lakers’ team

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The NMU women’s swim and dive team rounded out it’s home calendar with senior day against LSSU in the peif pool, with a plethora of seniors finding success.

A handful of Wildcat seniors had exceptional days in the pool on senior day. Zoe DeKievit claimed gold in the 100 fly, bronze in the 100 back, and a member of the first place 200 medley relay team. DeKievit also finished first in the 50 breast and third in the 50 free skins races.

Becca Burrows won the women’s skins event, claiming a pair of golds 50 free and back, and silver in the fly, along with anchoring the record-breaking first place 200 free relay team.

Alyssa Bloser finished first in the 100 IM, second in the 100 fly, and third in the 50 fly skins race. Mia Strazny aided both the relay teams to first-place races and claimed silver in the 100 breast.

Ella Houwers finished second in the 200 breast and a member of the first place 200 medley relay team Camilla Carbone claimed gold in the 100 back, Donna Hannig second in the 200 Fly.

The ‘Cats now look ahead to February 19, the start of the GLIAC Championships from Holland, Michigan.
