ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Tickets are now on sale for an inagural event to help kick off the Ishpeming Kristkindl Markt, while also recognizing one special volunteer.
The Ishpeming Kriskindl Cheermeister’s Ball will take place Thursday, November 12 at 6 p.m. inside the Mather Inn. Tickets are open to the public and can be purchased at ishkindlmarkt.com/cheermeister for $40 each, but are limited to around 160 people. Proceeds go back to supporting the European-style Christmas Market.
In addition to hor d’oeuvres, cash bar, and music by IronTown Brass, ball guests will get the first taste of the Cheermeister Ale, from Upper Hand Brewery. The highlight of the evening will be the naming of the first ever Ishpeming Cheermeister. This will be an individual who spreads cheer year-round, inspires others, and helps make the community a better place.
“It’s really turned into a U.P.-wide event,” said Kevin Corkin, the event’s founder and chair. “We really wanted to kick things off with this ball, and also to recognize all of our sponsors helping out in our first year.”
The inaugural Ishpeming Kristkindl Markt will take place in Downtown Ishpeming on November 27 and 28, then again December 4 and 5 in the parking lot of the Mather. WZMQ 19 will provide further coverage as a main sponsor of the event.
